Newtown Pride FC was started by the father/son team of Mike & Matt Svanda. The club has become a powerhouse of the Connecticut Soccer League, winning it for five consecutive years. After a few heartbreaks in USASA Region I cup action, Newtown went the distance to win the Fritz Marth Trophy for the US Amateur Cup in 2019. In 2012, the club dedicated its efforts to give back to the community of Sandy Hook for the long term betterment of the area. They aim to raise awareness & spread love in as many communities across the country through the game of soccer in honor of the victims at Sandy Hook Elementary School.
